Q: How old is old enough to be an antique?

A: Most people consider an item that is more than 100 years of age an antique. Generally items less than 75 years old are considered “collectibles”.

Q: What determines the value of an antique print?

A: Value is determined by a variety of factors including desirability, condition, local appeal for the item and the original cost of the print.

Q: What does it mean when a painting is labeled an “original”?
A: A true original is the first rendition of the work of art as conceived in the mind of the artist. An antique dealer should supply you with a certificate of authenticity for all original works of art you purchase.
